Pegasus ranks fifth worldwide for punctuality among major airlines

Pegasus Airlines finished fifth in OAG’s global punctuality ranking for June 2026. The Turkish carrier recorded an on-time performance of 83.10% in the Major Airlines category, which covers operators that completed more than 20,000 flights during the month.

Qantas headed the ranking, followed by Avianca, IndiGo and SAS. Pegasus took the next position after operating more than 20,000 services in June.

What counts as an on-time flight?

OAG treats a flight as on time when it reaches its destination no more than 15 minutes after the scheduled arrival. A cancelled service is counted as not on time. The aviation data company produces the report each month using information from millions of flights around the world.

This measure is based on arrival rather than departure. It provides a consistent way to compare airlines, although an individual flight can still be affected by weather, air traffic restrictions or airport operations.

Pegasus reported a 0.26% cancellation rate

Alongside its 83.10% punctuality result, Pegasus recorded a cancellation rate of 0.26%. The airline described this as one of the lowest rates among the major carriers included in the worldwide assessment.

Pegasus CEO Güliz Öztürk attributed the performance to investment in technology, continued operational improvements and coordination between teams. She said punctuality forms part of the airline’s commitment to passengers and is not treated only as an internal performance figure.
